Flexibility Tests

Flexibility refers to the ability to move joints through the entire range of motion, from flexion to extension. The flexibility of a joint depends on many factors including the length and suppleness of the muscles and ligaments and the shape of the bones and cartilage that form the joint. Flexibility is one of the important components of fitness and exercise is able to increase the amount of flexibility in a joint. From a volleyball spike to a rugby drop kick, flexibility of the muscles and joints play an essential role in many athletic movements. In this experiment, flexibility is tested with various methods such as sit and reach, floor touch, trunk extension, trunk rotation, and goniometers. By doing this experiment, the accuracy and validity of the methods are also being tested.
